Creating Space for Spirit
Your preparation begins the moment you say yes. The way you approach the medicine—physically, emotionally, mentally, and spiritually—directly influences what you receive.
• Spend time in prayer or meditation each day
• Reflect on your intention: Why are you coming to the medicine?
• Avoid violent media, gossip, overstimulation, or anything that pulls your energy away from Spirit
• Be mindful of who you are around, what you consume, and what you allow into your space.
Following a traditional dieta helps quiet the body and make space for the medicine to work more deeply:
• No pork, red meat, or heavy oils
• No processed foods, sugar, or dairy
• No caffeine, alcohol, or recreational drugs
• No sexual activity or release (including solo)
A clean vessel receives clearer messages. Start at least 7 days before ceremony if possible.
• Avoid drama, confrontation, and triggering environments
• Practice journaling or silent reflection
• Welcome any fears or emotions that arise—don’t push them away
• Trust that the medicine is already working, even before you arrive
• Comfortable, loose clothing
• Natural, unscented hygiene items
• Journal and pen
• A sacred item (stone, necklace, photo) if you wish
• Open heart and willing spirit
The Sacred Middle
Once you are with us in ceremony, we guide you prayerfully through the medicine space. You are held in reverence and protected by experienced ministers and facilitators. What you receive in the maloka may unfold over hours, days, or even years—but what you carry home is yours to grow.
Walking in the Truth You Were Shown
The true work begins when you return to daily life. Integration is not an afterthought. It is the continuation of the ceremony in your thoughts, choices, and relationships.
Integration is the process of embodying the teachings, visions, and healing you received. It may look like:
• Changing habits or relationships that no longer serve
• Deepening spiritual practice
• Listening to dreams and signs
• Sitting with emotions or memories that surfaced
• Honoring your inner guidance over time
The goal is not to “move on” from the experience, but to let it reshape you from within.
Integration as Ministry
AyaWaken Church offers spiritual support before, during, and after ceremony. This is not a service—it is our sacred duty as a ministry.
Each weekend includes prayerful group sharing circles. These are held in sacred space to speak truth, witness others, and receive reflections from the community.
If you need more time to process, pray, or speak privately, our facilitators are available before and after your journey. You may request spiritual check-ins by email, phone, or video.
You are not expected to carry this alone. Many of our members return not only for more ceremonies, but for the spiritual family that has been formed. You are welcome here—weeks, months, or years later.
• Stay in prayer
• Journal your insights and dreams
• Practice silence and mindfulness
• Speak with trusted elders or spiritual friends
• Avoid numbing or escaping
• Create space in your life for truth, honesty, and change
You are responsible for your walk, but you are not walking alone.
• Workshops and Retreats – Available throughout the year to deepen your process
• Integration Circles – Virtual or in-person community gatherings
• Books and Teachings – Learn more about ancestral paths and sacred healing
• Return to Ceremony – Spirit will guide you when it is time to sit again

You are welcome to reach out for spiritual guidance, questions, or continued support. Our community is here to walk with you.
“The ceremony does not end when the cup is empty. It ends when you become the truth it gave you.”
Walk gently. Walk prayerfully. You are not alone.
With love and devotion,
AyaWaken Church
